Terms of Service

These terms of service set out the conditions that apply when you book a safari with Detlef Safaris, from your initial deposit through your return home. Please read this page carefully before you confirm a booking, because it explains what happens at each stage of the process and, therefore, helps you travel with confidence.

1. Bookings & Payment

A deposit confirms your booking once Detlef Safaris receives and acknowledges it in writing. You then pay the balance before your travel start date, as we agree together at the time of booking. We accept payment by bank transfer or major credit card, and we will confirm the exact methods and deadlines in your booking confirmation.

2. Cancellations & Refunds

We will communicate cancellation terms, including any applicable fees or refund timelines, in writing for each booking. However, the amount you can recover generally depends on how far in advance you cancel, so we encourage you to review these details as soon as you receive them.

3. Travel Documents & Health Requirements

Guests are responsible for ensuring they hold valid passports, visas, and any required vaccinations or health documentation for their destination countries. We therefore recommend that you check entry requirements well before departure, since regulations can change with little notice.

4. Liability

Detlef Safaris works with reputable local partners and takes reasonable care in arranging services on your behalf. That said, travel to remote and wilderness areas carries inherent risk, and guests participate in activities such as trekking and game drives at their own risk. As a result, we strongly encourage travel insurance that covers emergency evacuation and medical care.

5. Force Majeure

Detlef Safaris is not liable for delays or cancellations arising from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including weather, park closures, political events, or other unforeseen events. In such cases, we will work with you to find the best available alternative.

6. Governing Law
